Ludmila read two stories: one about Winnie the poor and the importance of telling the truth and the other - about animals playing together, which laid a ground for repeating action verbs and prepositions in Russian. The kids also played a memory game. The pictures below illustrate how much the kids loved the adventures of Buratino. We broke the book into three parts, which were read over the course of three weeks. The kids looked forward to every part and particularly remembered the awful Karabas Barabas. This book was a really good choice for our three (and younger) year olds, because it had an elaborated, but easy to follow plot, beautiful pictures on every page and engaging characters. I think we should continue with "big kids" books that have involved stories and can be read over extended periods of time.
