Last night's Russian Readings looked like a little disaster. At first, but then... The kids were tired, unfocused and not willing to participate in horovoding. The parents began saying verses rather enthusiastically, but had to gave them up quickly seeing the kids lying on top of each other during the horovoding (the kids were playing this way).
We quickly abandoned horovoding and without much hope Luda began reading. And this is where the miracle happened! Whether it was Luda's special way of reading, or the kids looking forward to a good story, but the noise subsided and the rest of the story time went smoothly. Luda read three books and then we played a matching game. Each child received a picture of a shape and object, and had to name them and match them to the card produced by Luda. This Wednesday we learnt a lesson of not giving up too soon - just when the parents are about to despair, the kids might pull themselves together for a good story and a game with their parents and peers. Parents, just find the right thing to engage kids in, :-)! Luda did it, so could you, :-)...
